Jennifer Hudson Is Pregnant, Felicia Fields Confirmed to Chicago Tribune!

Jennifer Hudson is indeed pregnant, the 28-year-old actress/singer held a baby shower for her unborn child with fiancé David Otunga during the past weekend, according to Chicago Tribune.

“It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family. They’re really trying to keep it kind of quiet.” Singer/actress Felicia Fields, a longtime Hudson friend, told to the newspaper.

Congts to Hudson and Otunga, it sounds your wedding is nearing.

Essence Magazine said in April Jennifer Hudson was “indeed expecting”, but the pregnancy rumor was neither confirmed by Hudson nor by her rep.

George Tiller Shooter Suspect Arrested, Identified As Scott Roeder

A man believed to link to the shooting death of late term abortion doctor George Tiller was arrested, according to Kansas City.

A suspect in this morning's fatal shooting of George Tiller is in custody in Johnson County.

Authorities have yet to release more information about the arrest in Gardner. Wichita police have scheduled a 4 p.m. news conference to discuss the case.

Sedgwick County 911 dispatchers are confirming that the Johnson County Sheriff's Department has arrested a possible suspect in Dr. George Tiller's murder. A car matching the description of the vehicle wanted in the killing was pulled over near Gardner, KS. Wichita Police said a 51-year-old man is under arrest and will likely be booked on one count of murder this evening. The man could also face charges for threatening two other church members and pointing a gun at them.

The stop was made along I-35 near Gardner, south of Kansas City.

Update: Suspected Dr. George Tiller Shooter is identified as Scott Roeder. He was taken into custody in the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility without bond. Roeder is charged with first-degree murder and also facing two charges of aggravated assault.

Though Dr. George Tiller's abortion practice is not the thing that could be hailed as good deeds, taking his life in such a violent way deserves being condemned. Dr. Tiller's shooter should be justified!

George Tiller Shot: Abortion Doctor George Tiller Gunned Down at Reformation Lutheran Church Wichita

Dr. George Tiller, a 67-year-old late-term abortion doctor from Wichita, Kansas, was shot and killed this morning at the Reformation Lutheran Church in the 7600 block of E. 13th Street in Wichita. The gunman believed to be a white male in his 50s or 60s fled in a 1993 light blue Ford Taurus with a K-State vanity plate, license number 225 BAB.

The gunman threatened the two men and pointed the gun at them when they tried to apprehended him.

Tiller's family issued a statement through Wichita attorneys Dan Monnat and Lee Thompson.

"Today we mourn the loss of our husband, father and grandfather. Today's event is an unspeakable tragedy for all of us and for George's friends and patients.

"This is particularly heart wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace."

Dr. George Tiller was the medical director of an abortion clinic in Wichita, Women's Health Care Services. Both of Dr. Tiller himself and his clinic are the targets of pro-life protesters.

Women's Health Care Services, was bombed in 1985, and Tiller was shot in both arms in 1993 by abortion protester Rachelle “Shelley” Shannon of Grants Pass, Oregon. Rachelle Shannon, is serving her jail time in FCI Waseca and her projected release date is November 7, 2018.

In 1991, the Summer of Mercy protests organized by anti-abortion group Operation Rescue drew thousands of anti-abortion activists for mass demonstrations and arrests.

Learning the news that Dr. Tiller was shot, Operation Rescue released a statement condemning the shooting and offered their prayers for his family.

"We are shocked at this morning's disturbing news that Mr. Tiller was gunned down. Operation Rescue has worked for years through peaceful, legal means, and through the proper channels to see him brought to justice. We denounce vigilantism and the cowardly act that took place this morning. We pray for Mr. Tiller's family that they will find comfort and healing that can only be found in Jesus Christ."

Our heartfelt condolence to Dr. Tiller’s family and those who were affected by the loss of Dr. Tiller.

Kimora Lee Simmons, 34, the CEO of fashion line Baby Phat, and Djimon Hounsou, 45, the two time Oscar-nominated actor, have welcomed a baby boy on Saturday May 30th.

"It's a boy! Thanks to everyone out there for all your well wishes! More to come. Thank God. And God Bless! Kimora + Djimon Love & Light, KLS”, Kimora announced the happy news on her Twitter page.

The boy, whose name has not yet been released, is the first child together for the pair.

Kimora has been dating Djimon since 2007, following her split from ex-husband Russell Simmons, the father of her two daughters, Ming Lee Simmons (9) and Aoki Lee Simmons (6).

Despite of their very different personalities, Chandler and Tayler Burfield have much more in common than just their appearance.

Chandler and Tayler Burfield twins recently graduated from the Community School of Naples, Naples, Florida. They graduated at the top of their class as co-valedictorians, with each carrying a 4.76 GPA.

Chandler and Taylor Burfield play the same sports and share the same friends. They are co-captains of the track team as well as members of the swim team of their school and the National Honor Society.

Also, Chandler and Taylor decided to attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston and planned to major in math and economics.

Meet Zou Linying, a girl from China’s Sichuan Province, is a super model at age of 15 years old. Zou Linying  (Chinese: 邹林颖) won the champion of the 19th Super Model of the World Cosmos Pageant by beating 50 other contestants from nearly 50 countries and regions in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province, on May 28, 2009.

Zou Linying was born on April 28, 1994 to a wealthy family in Qionglai, a prefecture city of Chendu, capital of Sichuan. Father Zou Ge is a businessman and mother Lin Wei is a government official at Qionglai Industrial and Commercial Bureau.

Zou Linying was sent to study dancing at Sichuan Dance School by her mom after finishing the 5th grade. But because of her height (she grew much taller than those girls of her same age),  Linying withdrew from the dance school after completing the Form One and went to attend a normal middle school. Now at 15, she stands more than 175 cm tall.

In 2007, Zou Linying attended the Kids Models Competition of New Silk Road, China’s top modelling agency and became the runner-up in Sichuan Region. Zou then went to participate in the 18th Super Model of the World Cosmos Pageant but due to the age limit (14 years old), she decided to quit the contest.

In this video Fr. Robert Barron comments on Bob Dylan. I pulled this video up as the result of reading an article he wrote in the current issue of America magazine, entitled YouTube Heresies. In his recent interview Dylan somewhat confirms what Barron contends in his piece, at least as much as Dylan confirms any question asked to him directly, that the Bible has been influential for him. He also talks about, among others, Chuck Barry, Carl Sandburg, Woody Guthrie, and Jack Kerouac. About Kerouac's On the Road, Dylan says it "speeds by like freight train...It's all movement and words and lusty instincts that come alive like you're riding on a train...No ambiguity." I remember reading On the Road as a senior in college on my own. I started about eight o' clock in the evening and finished it about one or two the next morning, then reread it.

Douglas Brinkley, who interviewed Dylan for Rolling Stone, writes: "I decide to push him on the importance of Christian Scripture in his life. 'Well, sure' he says, 'that and those other first books I read were really biblical stuff. Uncle Tom's Cabin and Ben Hur. Those were the books I remembered reading and finding religion in. Later on, I started reading over and over again Plutarch and his Roman Lives. And the writers Cicero, Tacitus and Marcus Aurelius...I like the morality thing'." Here is where Dylan says something so wise and concise you might miss it: "People talk about [morality] all the time. Some say you can't legislate morality. Well, maybe not. But morality has gotten kind of a bad rap. In Roman thought, morality is broken down into basically four things. Wisdom, Justice, Moderation and Courage. All of these are the elements that would make up the depth of a person's morality. And then dictate the types of behavior patterns you'd use to respond in any given situation. I don't look at morality as a religious thing."

The fact that he does not see morality as necessarily "a religious thing" is not an affront to religion, far from it. Our Catholic faith is in synch with this view. Dylan is absolutely correct, the fundamental source of morality is not revelation (i.e., the Bible), it is reason. Indeed, the four elements that make up what he sees as Roman moral thought are the cardinal virtues: Prudence, Justice, Restraint (i.e., Temperance/Moderation), Courage. Cardinal comes from the Latin word cardo, meaning hinge. Hence, these virtues are so called because the door of the moral life swings on them.

Brinkley's interview with Dylan, at least the first part before it goes to a page in the back of the magazine, is followed by an article entitled Mike Tyson Repents, which, in turn, is followed by a profile of porn actress Sasha Grey: The Dirtiest Girl in the World. Grey wants "to tell young women that sex is OK." She also wants to let them know that "[i]t's OK to be a slut." Then she latches on to this tired old discourse: "If I am working out any issues through porn, it's anger at society for not being open about sex." This from a young woman who describes catching "gonorrhea twice and chlamydia once" as "getting the common cold." She says, "When you're in the industry, and your body is what you sell" catching a STD "makes you feel like shit." I think catching a STD probably has that effect whether you're in the industry or not- Utah has one of the highest chlamydia rates in the U.S. I recently saw this on the side of a UTA bus: is it alright to play marco polo with someone who has chlamydia? According Sasha, she now has "a good enough reputation" that she can "demand tests from" those who perform with her. What about those young women who follow her advice and whose reputations, so to speak, are not that good? All of this apart from the fact that it is completely dualistic to think you can sell your body and not your soul.

Prescinding from reason to faith, not that they are knowledge of different species, that, too, is dualistic, let's look at what the apostle wrote to the church at Corinth: "The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ" (1 Cor. 6:13b-15)?

When discussing art with Dylan, Brinkley mentions Andy Warhol, which makes Dylan glare at him while saying that he regards Warhol as "Only a cultural figure...Not as an artist." Whereas, Sasha Grey has Philosophy of Andy Warhol (notice the all too chic absent definite article The before Philosophy in the title) on her bookshelf next to some of her films, like Apprentass, to name only one work in her increasing ouvre.

Since this post has miscellania in the title, I point you to an article that appears in this morning's Salt Lake Tribune about a good friend of mine, Brian Diggs, a Methodist minister who recently left the pastorate of his church to run the United Methodist Committee on Relief depot here in Salt Lake City. Brian earned his M.Div at Duke, studying with Stanley Hauerwas.

According to TMZ, Oksana Grigorieva, the Russian pianist who is pregnant with Mel “Octo-Mel” Gibson’s 8th child, now is suing Dream Host in a lawsuit filed in in Los Angeles County Superior Court, accusing the hosting company of having constructed a fake website.  TMZ did not say what kind of compensation Grigorieva is seeking or if she wants back OksanaGrigorieva.com.

Angelina Jolie Injured on Salt Set

Angelina Jolie was reportedly taken to hospital after sustaining a minor injury on the set of her new movie Friday May 29 in New York.

Angelina bumped her head and got a nick between her eyes while performing a stunt on the Salt set in Long Island, TMZ reported. She bled a little bit in the accident.

As a precautionary measure, Jolie was taken to the hospital and examined. She has since been discharged from the hospital and is back on work already.

Sarah Trigger Child Abuse Arrest: Actor Jon Cryer Ex-wife Sarah Trigger Arrested Over Child Abuse

Sarah Trigger, ex-wife of Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer, was arrested on the alleged child abuse Thursday morning.

According to reports, Trigger, 40, was taken into custody at her home in Hermosa Beach, California. She was alleged of using a weapon to abuse a child who was discovered having rope or cord marks on his neck.

Sarah Trigger, the British-born actress who appeared on CSI: Miami, married Jon Cryer in 1999 but divorced in 2004. The couple has an 8-year-old son Charlie Austin Cryer.

The identify of the injured child who is currently safe was not released because he is a minor.

Sarah Trigger was booked on charges of felony child neglect. She was freed on a $100,000 bail.

Kavya Shivashankar Spelling Bee 2009 Winner (Pictures & Video)

Kavya Shivashankar, a 13-year-old 8th grader from Olathe, Kansas, is the Spelling Bee 2009 Winner. Kavya Shivashankar who studies at Olathe's California Trail Junior High School won the contest on May 28 after correctly spelling Laodicean, a word means "lukewarm or indifferent in religion or politics." Kavya Shivashankar, a 13-year-old word wizard from Olathe, finally captured the Scripps National Spelling Bee championship Thursday.

After six years of inhaling dictionaries word by word, memorizing their meanings, studying their roots and perfecting their pronunciations, she bested 292 competitors and aced 40 words to capture a prize that has eluded her in three previous final appearances.

“It’s been my dream for so long, I just can’t believe it’s actually happened,” Kavya said afterward.

Kavya Shivashankar, who dreams to be a neurosurgeon when she grows up,  received a huge Scripps National Spelling Bee Trophy bestowed by President and CEO of the E.W. Quite a few years ago, I stopped praying the Fatima prayer when reciting the rosary. Beginning last Sunday, I felt compelled to include it again:

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy.

This prayer was revealed by our Lady to the children, Jacinta, Lucia, and Francisco (l to r in the pic), at Fatima on 13 July 1917. Responding to Lucia's question about she wanted them to do, Our Lady replied: "I want you to come here on the thirteenth of next month; to recite the rosary every day." She then told them to do something they had never heard of before: "After the Gloria Patri of each decade, you will say, ‘O my Jesus, forgive us our sins! Deliver us from the fires of hell! Courtney Love Credit Card Lawsuit: Courtney Love Sued by American Express Over $350,000 Unpaid Bills

Courtney Love is being sued by a credit card company over her massive unpaid bills totaling $352,059.67.

According to reports, American Express filed a lawsuit against the former Hole singer in the US District Court in Los Angeles on Wednesday (May 27), claiming the 44-year-old “failed and refused to make payments” on her AmEx Gold cards - which has been suspended by the company.

Earlier this year, Love was also sued by fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir over allegedly "menacing and disturbing" comments on MySpace and Twitter page.

Recently, the troubled singer launched a lawsuit of her own, accusing a group of people robbing $45 million dollars cash and $705 million worth of other assets which were left to her after her hubby Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994.

T.I. Married With Tameka Cottle Before Being Prisoned: Report

Rapper T.I., 28, married with his longtime girlfriend Tameka Cottle, 33, last week, it was reported.

T.I., real name Clifford Harris, Jr., and former Xscape singer Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were officially married in a private ceremony on an island in Miami last Friday (May 22), according to an insider told The Urban Daily.

"It’s been a crazy situation around here with all that has been taking place. In regards to Tiny and T.I., yes they are officially husband and wife. It recently took place in a very private ceremony with only members of the immediate family and certain members of the Grand Hustle family.” the source said.

T.I. and Tameka Cottle have been dating since 2001. They have two sons together.

T.I. checked into a federal prison in Forrest City, Arkansas Tuesday (May 26) to begin serving his year-and-a-day sentence on weapon charges from his October 2007 arrest.
