UPDATED: Time Square car bomber suspect Faisal Shahzad - ARRESTED! (video added)

Not many details for now, will update as I find them.  Here is what we have from Fox News so far.
Fox News: BREAKING NEWS -- Federal authorities arrested a U.S. citizen of Pakistani descent Monday night at New York's JFK Airport in connection with the attempted Times Square car bombing, Fox News has learned.
The man was identified as Shahzad Faisal, 30, of Connecticut, according to NBC News.
Police had interviewed the registered owner of the bomb-laden sports-utility vehicle. They said he was not a suspect, but he recently sold the dark-colored 1993 Nissan Pathfinder on Craigslist to another individual, whom the Associated Press reported was a Pakistani-American. [More]

UPDATE I: New York Post
Police have arrested a Connecticut man in connection with the attempted car bombing of a busy Times Square street Saturday night. Shahzad Faisal, of Shelton, Conn., was taken into custody late last night at JFK International Airport as he tried to slink out of the country, CNN reported.
Earlier today, federal authorities said they dentified a naturalized American citizen who recently returned from Pakistan as a "person of interest" in the attempted carbombing on Broadway Saturday night but did not release his name.
Associated Press, quoting two law enforcement officials, reported that he is the man who purchased the SUV involved in the attempted bombing.

He has 115 friends on his Facebook page.

UPDATE III: Suspect attempting to flee to Dubai, identified by email
Many more details from NBC News. We learn that Shahzad Faisal was attempting to flee to Dubai. The authorities were able to track him down by an email he sent to the original owner of the Nissan Pathfinder.
NBC News: NEW YORK - Authorities arrested U.S. citizen Faisal Shahzad in connection with the failed bombing attempt in New York's Times Square as he tried to flee the United States, Attorney General Eric Holder said on Tuesday.
Shahzad was arrested trying to board a flight to Dubai at New York's JFK airport, Holder said in an early morning press conference on Tuesday.[…]
"It was clear that the intent behind this terrorist act was to kill Americans," he said.
The officials said the man was a Connecticut resident who paid cash weeks ago for the SUV parked in Times Square on Saturday and rigged with a crude propane-and-gasoline bomb.
NBC's Williams reported the man's name was on an e-mail that was sent to the seller of the car last month, as well as other evidence suggesting he had a role in the attempted bombing.

UPDATE IV: Video Eric Holder press conference on Shahzad Faisal

I wonder if Eric Holder still thinks it is a good idea to have the KSM trials in New York?

Update V: Luck is not an effective deterrent

I was just thinking about how both the Underpants Bomber and now the Time Square Car Bomber were both able to execute their plans just seconds away from success. It was sheer luck that in both cases something failed at the last second.

We cannot count on luck for long to save us from another attack. Where were our anti terror forces to catch these guys in the early stages of their attacks? Both of these men were able to plan their attacks, purchase materials, construct the devices, transport their devices and damn near fully execute their attacks. Meanwhile nowhere along the line did the FBI, CIA, NSA, DHS or any of our myriad of acronyms catch on. This does not bode well for our safety and it is completely unacceptable.

As a nation, we have paid dearly for heighten security, in both tax dollars and our own personal liberties, since 9/11 and what do we get for our troubles? The grace of God stepping in at the last second! It is time we put away the Red and Blue jazz for a moment and start demanding our officials get on the ball.
