The Hill: President Obama called on U.S. businesses to do more to help grow the economy, saying that while the unemployment rate is getting better and jobs are being added, the U.S. needs “to get there faster.”
“Businesses have a responsibility, too,” said Obama in his weekly address on Saturday. “If we make America the best place to do business, businesses should make their mark in America. They should set up shop here, and hire our workers, and pay decent wages, and invest in the future of this nation. That’s their obligation.” [More]
What a complete dunce. Obama has never run a business and this statement proves it. People do not take on risk, go into debt or put up with endless red tape because they are obligated to the economy. People go into business for profit, plain and simple. It is in the pursuit of that profit that the nation benefits from new innovations, goods and service and the granddaddy of them all J.O.B.S!
If you create a hostile atmosphere for business (i.e. high corporate tax rate, outrageous union demands, and idiotic greenhouse gas regulations) don't be surprise if business goes else where and take all the jobs with them. It isn't rocket science.
I have often suspected that may leftist believe business should only exist to take care of the needs of man and nothing more. That profiting off of those needs is just plain evil. Things like risk, skill, ingenuity or innovation are somehow not worthy of reward (profit). This is why I think Obama believes he can just command business to just create jobs!
