Osama Dead: Reactions From Bush, Romney and Palin

National Journal: I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude.

This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.

Mitt Romney's Facebook Page: This is a great victory for lovers of freedom and justice everywhere.
Congratulations to our intelligence community, our military and the president. My thoughts are with the families of Osama bin Laden's many thousands of victims, and the brave servicemen and women who have laid down their lives in pursuit of this murderous terrorist.

Sarah Palin's Facebook Page: Americans tonight are united in celebration and gratitude. God bless all the brave men and women in our military and our intelligence services who contributed to carrying out the successful mission to bring Bin Laden to justice and who laid the groundwork over the years to make this victory possible. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of these brave Americans who relentlessly hunted down our enemy.

This is a victory for the American people, for the victims who were heartlessly murdered on September 11 and in Al Qaeda’s other numerous attacks, and for all the peace-loving people of the world.

May God bless our troops and our intelligence services, and God bless America!

Osama Dead: Our turn to party in the streets

When we were attacked on September 11, 2001, many from the Culture of Death partied in the streets of the Middle East. Yesterday, it was our turn to do the Snoopy Dance of Victory! In this age of declining American influence and resolve, it is good to have a reminder of what we are capable of as a nation.

Got him! Osama Bin Ladin killed!

ABC News: Osama bin Laden, hunted as the mastermind behind the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil, has been killed, President Obama announced tonight.
The president called the killing of bin Laden the "most significant achievement to date" in the effort to defeat al Qaeda.
"Justice has been done," Obama said.
Bin Laden was located at a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, which was monitored and when the time was determined to be right, the president said, he authorized a "targeted operation."
"A small team of Americans carried out the operation," Obama said. "After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body."
DNA testing confirmed that it was bin Laden, sources told ABC News. [MORE]
This is great news, we finally have some justice and have caught the mastermind of 9/11. Sooner or later there will be the typical left vs. right perspective on this event, but we really should just rejoice as Americans for having justice served.

I do find it interesting that Eric Holder's prediction came true. For Obama, this is a feather in his cap going into the 2012 elections.

On the down side, we should all gird our loins because no doubt the Islamic extremists will now be motivated to strike back. Hopefully, the clown patrol (Janet Napolitano and James Clapper) will be on point and ready for any retaliation.

Everything old is new again: Old video of Van Jones bashing America on 9/12/01

Gateway Pundit links to a story on Big Government about a long lost video of Van Jones. In the video Van Jones is bashing America just one day after the 9/11 terror attacks.

At a rally in Oakland on the night after the 9/11 attacks Van Jones (at about the 4:38 mark; HT to NewsBusters.org commenter Merkava) tells a far-far-left audience that ….

- “It’s the bombs that the government has been dropping around the world that are now blowing up inside the U.S. borders.”
- “We’ve got something stronger than bombs, we have solidarity. That dream of revolutionary change is stronger than bombs.”

There has been a steady rehabilitation campaign of Van Jones' image. Even New York schools using Van Jones as a role model in their human rights curriculum. After this video starts making the rounds, Van Jones will have to start back at square one on his rehabilitation campaign.

Obama to Politico: Gulf Oil Spill Echoes 9/11

Politico: Sounding reflective as he heads into a bruising electoral season, President Barack Obama told POLITICO columnist Roger Simon that the Gulf disaster “echoes 9/11” because it will change the nation’s psyche for years to come.
Obama — facing mounting criticism of his handling of the BP gusher, even from longtime allies — vowed to make a “bold” push for a new energy law even as the calamity continues to unfold. And he said he will use the rest of his presidency to try to put the United States on a course toward a “new way of doing business when it comes to energy.”
“In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11,” the president said in an Oval Office interview on Friday, "I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come.”
My first thought was, Dear Lord, may we never experience another 9/11 under Obama’s incompetence.  My second thought was just how unrelated the two events are. 9/11 was an act of war and the BP oil spill is a disaster being made worse by incompetent management. I think it is fair to say that Obama himself doesn’t believe a word of what he is saying. Otherwise why spend the rest of the day golfing?

Of course Obama is going to use the oil spill to pass that nightmare legislation Cap and Tax:
In his firmest declaration yet that he views the calamity as an impetus to push Congress afresh to pass a major energy and climate bill, Obama vowed to “move forward in a bold way in a direction that finally gives us the kind of future-oriented, … visionary energy policy that we so vitally need and has been absent for so long..”
“One of the biggest leadership challenges for me going forward is going to be to make sure that we draw the right lessons from this disaster,” he said.
It most certainly will be a leadership challenge to draw lessons from a disaster that still isn’t resolved yet. Never the less, Obama is pushing for a piece of legislation from way back during the campaign to solve the problems of today.

When reading this story I had third and more frightening thought.  Obama has over two years to go in his term. In that time there remains the possibility for yet another disaster that he will no doubt be ill equip to handle.  Too bad these disasters aren’t unorganized communities; perhaps then Obama would have a clue.

Ahmadinejad a 9/11 Truther? Says, “9/11 was a big lie”

It looks like Iranian leader and chief nutcase Ahmadinejad is going 9/11 Truther on us and why not, he denied the Holocaust, so why not 9/11?
(CNN) -- Two days before his official trip to Afghanistan, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, a "big lie" intended to pave the way for the invasion of a war-torn nation, according to Iranian state media.
Ahmadinejad, known for his harsh rhetoric toward the West and Israel, said the attack on U.S. soil was a "scenario and a sophisticated intelligence measure," Iran's state-run Press TV reported Saturday.
The assault was a "big lie intended to serve as a pretext for fighting terrorism and setting the grounds for sending troops to Afghanistan," Press TV reported Ahmadinejad as saying.
Here is something to consider. Ahmadinejad’s statement is pure insanity, just like his Holocaust statement, yet the mullahs of Iran were willing to risk getting toppled for his sham reelection. What does that tell you?  Seems to me that they might actually believe Ahmadinejad’s nonsense, if so, should we not be completely alarmed that this nation is marching on its way to becoming a nuclear nation?
