Video: Allen West impersonates Harry Reid

The Blaze: While speaking at an event this weekend, West — a former Army colonel — mocked Reid’s prediction from last week that the Tea Party won’t last.
“This morning you know I had an interview on Fox, and Brian asked me a very simple question. He played that little clip of Harry Reid that said, ah you know the Tea Party, they’re going to go away,” he said in voice that mimicked a troll while making a face and hunching over. The crowd erupted in cheers.
He then delivered a message of his own: “Well let me tell you something Majority Leader Reid, the American people are not going away.”
See West’s foray into acting beginning at 1:20 below:

The brother is fearless. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't wish Rep. West was on the political scene 10 years ago. If he was, he would be ready for 2012. Sadly, we will have to wait a few more years for West to seek the White House.

Video: CAIR confronts Allen West

The Shark Tank: At a townhall meeting hosted by Congressman Allen West on Monday evening in Pompano Beach, the Q&A segment of the meeting featured a Koran wielding Nezar Hamze, Executive Director of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR).  Hamze confronted Congressman West and asked him to point out where in the Koran does it give marching orders to Muslims “to carry out attacks against Americans and innocent people”.  West quickly pointed out that the Koran was written long before America even existed and that it does indeed tell believers to kill infidels, and then proceeded to chronicle a lengthy list of historical Muslim acts of aggression.  Congressman West closed his retort by referencing the Fort Hood shootings and 9-11 attacks, saying that his first hand experiences on the battlefield has given him insight into the tactics that Islamists use before telling Hamze not to “try to blow sunshine up my butt” with his criticism of him. West took offense to Hamze’s amateurish criticism of his stance on radical Islam and concluded by telling Mr. Hamze to “put the microphone down and go home.”

Once again Allen West provides a refreshing departure from the silly hypersensitive politically correct crowd.  Rather than be cowed by CAIR's attempt to deflect criticism of Islam (radical or otherwise), West stands his ground.

When the pitch battles over the budget finally get underway, I cannot wait to see how West confronts fiscally irresponsible Democrats.

VIDEO: Allen West at CPAC 2011

The first 8 and a half minutes is David Keene's introduction to Allen West.  Jump to the 8:45 mark for the beginning of Allen West's keynote address.  This video cuts off about 5 minutes short.  You can view the end of West's speech at The Right Scoop.

Allen West is everything Obama pretends to be, highly intelligent, well spoken and patriotic.  Of all the new TEA Party candidates, West is clearly the ideal.

What saddens me is that West is about a decade too late getting to the national scene.  Had he been elected ten years ago, he could  be finishing up a term or two as governor of Florida.  He would destroy Obama in two seconds flat, because he is a man of solid convictions who knows how to wage and win a war.

My hope is that West will pull another term in the House and then seek a governorship somewhere.  After a term or two as a governor, he should seek the White House.  Then he could easily be one of the best GOP candidates the nation has ever seen.

Allen West to join Congressional Black Caucus

This guy has guts.  He isn’t even going to wait for an invitation.  It will be very interesting to see the Congressional Black Caucus’ reaction to West.  Refusing to accept him will pretty much cement their image as just another leftwing organization masquerading as a advocates for blacks.

Personally, I would not be bother joining the CBC.  That group is a lost cause and trying to change them from within seems like mission impossible to me.  However, West did not get elected by taking the easy route, so if there is anyone who can bring change to the CBC, it is West.

I am also glad to hear he hung up on Ron Klein.  Why should a candidate be respectful of an opponent who abandons decency to win? Perhaps a little incivility in politics is what is needed to bring back civility.

Full Video: Lt. Col. Allen West – Ron Klein Debate

As far as debate formats go, this one really stinks.  There is absolutely no back and forth between West and Klein.  How can anyone call this a debate without the two candidates engaging on the issues?  The moderators stank too.  They seemed not to ask any really controversial or tough questions to either candidate and did not follow up on anything. Given Ron Klein’s high support of the very unpopular Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda, these moderators did very little to get Klein to explain those votes.

If the Ron Klein’s plan was to paint West as some rightwing whacko extremist, West’s appearance here certainly throws that out the window.  West comes off well informed, principled and serious. Given that the room was packed with supporters from both sides, it is hard to tell just how effective each candidate was.

Watch the debate and share your thoughts.

Video: Allen West to Obama: “Welcome to the jungle”

The Shark-Tank: At the Vets for West picnic today in Delray Beach, Florida, Congressional Candidate Allen West in true form called out the Democrat Party and its spineless minions that include none other than Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Allen has already sent Madam Speaker a message-Allen West to Pelosi- “Give Me that Damn Gavel!) and ‘the Messiah’himself, President Barack H. Obama.  The Congressional Black Caucus and Congressman- impeached Federal Judge Alcee Hastings have announced that they will be campaigning against West on behalf of Congressman Ron Klein.  President Obama and Speaker Pelosi will be in Congressional District 22 next month stumping for the embattled Congressman Klein, who has been lagging in the most recent public opinion polls.
You know the Dems will pull out all the stops (including publishing his social security number) to make sure Allen West does not get to Congress.  Too bad for them Allen West won’t go quietly.  Allen West represents the new type of Republicans, Republicans who are grounded in principle and not at all afraid to get down and dirty with the Dems.

Come on Florida, send Allen West to Washington!

Lt. Col. Allen West on illegal immigration

The money quote: “See our government wants to castigate us as the enemy. Our President went down and said that the problem is here in the United States of America. Well, you know, let’s face it. Wherever he goes he’s going to apologize for this country. I can’t stand the guy. I absolutely can’t stand him.”

Video: Lt. Col West on radical Islam

This video is from February (h/t The Right Scoop). In it a guy (off camera) from Red State asks a panel about the motivations of radical Islam. Two gentlemen give vague answers and then Lt. Col. West cuts to the chase.

I am hard pressed to think of anyone in politics today who would have to courage to say anything like that. I am pretty amazed that Lt. Col. West hasn’t made it big in politics yet. I hope, after getting elected to the House, he immediately finds a governorship somewhere and then make a run for the White House. I would vote for him in a second.

Lt. Col. Allen West answers the question Michael Steele couldn’t

You will recall about two weeks ago Michael Steele was asked why blacks should vote for the GOP. Steele foolishly replied
“You really don’t have a reason, to be honest,--we haven’t done a very good job of giving you one.”
I am still rolling my eyes over that one. Now watch how Lt. Col. West answers the question and admonishes Steele too boot!

A little more Lt. Col Allen West, anyone?

Judging from the response to LC West’s tea party speech, I thought all of you would like this video of West talking about the opposition. The best part comes at the end when West tells us what he plans to say to Nancy Pelosi. Go West!

Lt. Col. Allen West's Tax Day Tea Party Speech

(h/t: The Right Scoop)

Florida, please, please, please send Lt. Col. Allen West to Washington! We need representatives like him in Washington in the worse way. Come on Florida, America is counting on you.

Sarah Palin endorses Allen West

Yesterday in a new Facebook note, Sarah Palin threw her support behind three veteran candidates running for US House seats, Major Vaughn Ward, Captain Adam Kinzinger and Lieutenant Colonel Allen West. As many of you know, Lieutenant Colonel Allen West is the black conservative whose famous speech set YouTube ablaze.

Here is Palin’s endorsement for West:
[...] The third veteran is Lieutenant Colonel Allen West, a decorated war hero who’s served with distinction in combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many of you may have heard of Allen from a speech he gave last year that became a viral video on YouTube with over 2 million viewers. Allen’s personal story is a testament to the commonsense conservative belief that our nation’s greatness is rooted in freedom, because with freedom comes equal opportunity, and that, coupled with hard work, leads to success. Allen is a small government fiscal conservative running against a leftwing ideologue who’s marched to the beat of Nancy Pelosi on every issue from cap-and-tax to the stimulus, TARP, and, of course, Obamacare. It’s time to send Allen to Washington in his place. Please visit Allen’s website here to donate to his campaign, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter. [...]
There are quite a few black conservatives running in 2010. Many of them would make excellent Reps. I have covered a few here at this blog (Michael Williams and Les Phillips).  I hope to have a full list of all the black conservatives running in 2010 shortly.
