Video: Donald Trump vs. George Stephanopoulos

I loved this contentious interview because both Trump and Stephanopoulus take a beating. Kudos, to Stephanopoulos for pressing hard to smoke out the lack of details behind Trumps' tough talk (e.g. dealing with OPEC and his investigators in Hawaii). Kudos to Trump for smacking Stephanopoulus around even when Stephanopoulus was getting the better of him.

Trump's 15 minutes of extra fame has been quite entertaining. He has given conservatives something we have been longing for for the last 2+ years and that is a strong and direct assault on Obama. As entertaining and to some degree stratifying as it has been, the time for Trump to exit the stage is rapidly approaching.

I say this because so many of Trump's positions seem almost like the caricature the left paints of the right rather than any principled conservative position (e.g. taking Iraq's oil). So long as Trump stays on stage, he helps to reinforce the left's negative narrative of conservatives and Republicans. The last thing Republicans need is to have this image stick in 2012. Furthermore, I do fear some Republicans might actually think Trump would be a suitable candidate for 2012 and given the seriousness of this election, Trump simply isn't suitable for the task.

Here are the videos from Sarah Palin's interview with David Brody the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN).  This is the interview where Sarah Palin says that Egypt was Obama's 3 AM call and it went to the answering machine.  The interview took place right after her keynote address at the Reagan ranch.

Police chase media away from covering DADT protest at White House

From Politico: Police chased reporters away from the White House and closed Lafayette Park today in response to a gay rights protest in which several service members in full uniform handcuffed themselves to the White House gate to protest "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
People who have covered the White House for years tell me that's an extremely unusual thing to do in an area that regularly features protests.
A reporter can be seen in the YouTube video above calling the move "outrageous" and "ridiculous."
Wow our media is really nothing more than a bunch of neutered lapdogs. One police officer shoos the lot of them away with nothing more than the sound of his voice. It is hard to believe that these reporters abandon their Constitutional right with less fuss than a customer getting gypped at a store.

The problem is our media has long forgotten what their role is. So many of them believe they are supposed to be activists for the left rather than watchdogs for the entire public. Is it any wonder why corruption in Washington is off the chain?
