Video: Jimmy Carter on the Muslim Brotherhood

There is a reason why Jimmy Carter is thought of as the worst president in modern times (until Obama).  There is a reason why Iran was able to jerk Jimmy's chain for so long. The reason is simple, Jimmy Carter is a complete and unabashed jackass.


Not even ten seconds after saying that the Muslim Brotherhood has ties to some of the worst terrorist groups in the world, he says we have nothing to worry about.  He is completely wrong with his idea that Egyptians are these modern day secularist. Recent polling shows they have very strong beliefs in Islam, the so called "Religion of Peace".


From recent polling of Egyptians we find:

22%: Say a non-democratic system can be preferable in certain circumstances
Islam in politics
95%: Say it’s good that Islam plays a large role in politics
85%: Say Islam’s influence on politics is good
48%: Say Islam currently play a large role in Egyptian politics
Islamist extremism
80%: Think suicide bombings are never or rarely justified.
20%: Think suicide bombings are sometimes or often justified
70%: Are concerned or very concerned about Islamist extremism in the world
61%: Are concerned or very concerned about Islamist extremism in the Egypt
Traditional Muslim practices
54%: Believe men and women should be segregated in the workplace
82%: Believe adulterers should be stoned
84%: Believe apostates from Islam should face the death penalty
77%: Believe thieves should be flogged or have their hands cut off

Sorry but those numbers don't look very secular to me.  Thank God Jimmy is out of the White House.  Now if we can only get through the next two years of his psychedelic soul brother.

Clown Alert! DNI James Clapper - Muslim Brotherhood is largely secular

Clown Alert! Move over Janet Napolitano, here comes James Clapper.


Today James Clapper the Director of National Intelligence once again exposed his shiny red nose and floppy shoes to the whole world with this remark.

Politico: In response to questioning from Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.) about the threat posed by the group, Clapper suggested that the Egyptian part of the Brotherhood is not particularly extreme and that the broader international movement is hard to generalize about.

“The term ‘Muslim Brotherhood’…is an umbrella term for a variety of movements, in the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al Qaeda as a perversion of Islam,” Clapper said. “They have pursued social ends, a betterment of the political order in Egypt, et cetera…..In other countries, there are also chapters or franchises of the Muslim Brotherhood, but there is no overarching agenda, particularly in pursuit of violence, at least internationally.”

The Brotherhood uses the slogan, “Islam is the answer,” and generally advocates for government in accordance with Islamic principles. The movement has as a broad goal unifying what it perceives as Muslim lands, from Spain to Indonesia, as a “caliphate.”

Clapper is beating a quick retreat from that bit of foolishness and has issued a "clarifying" statement:

"To clarify Director Clapper’s point - in Egypt the Muslim Brotherhood makes efforts to work through a political system that has been, under Mubarak’s rule, one that is largely secular in its orientation," a spokesman for Clapper, Jamie Smith, said Thursday afternoon. "He is well aware that the Muslim Brotherhood is not a secular organization."

This isn't the first time Clapper's clown shoes made a slapping noise on the floor.  Remember when he was completely clueless about the London terror attacks?

How is it possible that this administration can have the most incompetent people in the most sensitive positions? Eric Holder - clown, Janet Napolitano - clown and the Director of National Intelligence - clown (or is that Director of National Ignorance?).  God help us!
