NJ teachers union “prays” for Gov. Chris Christie’s death

Bergen County Education Association president Joe Coppola closed a memo to union members with the following prayer:
"Dear Lord this year you have taken away my favorite actor, Patrick Swayze, my favorite actress, Farrah Fawcett, my favorite singer, Michael Jackson, and my favorite salesman, Billy Mays. I just wanted to let you know that Chris Christie is my favorite governor."
Of course Mr. Coppola is saying it was just a joke. Riiiight, we all know that if Governor Christie had joked the same way about anyone in the teachers union no one on the left would be laughing.

NJEA (New Jersey Education Association) President Barbara Keshishian was quick to respond.
"NJEA condemns the inappropriate 'prayer' contained in a letter sent by the NJEA Bergen County regional offices and our Bergen County affiliate. Language such as that has no place in civil discourse. It was intended as humor, but it is not funny. Our ongoing discussion with Gov. Christie is centered on serious issues of significant importance to the state, and that must be the focus of all our conversation. We deeply regret that the 'prayer' reference was included in the letter, and we apologize to Gov. Christie for both the content of the 'prayer' and the lack of respect it demonstrated.
"I will be reaching out to Gov. Christie's office to apologize personally on behalf of all NJEA members."

Chris Christie’s response to the “prayer” and NJEA’s apology and his response isn’t all that forgiving:
"I’m sure there are teachers all across New Jersey who, when they learn about this today are going to be ashamed," said Christie, at an appearance in New Brunswick.  "I wonder what the children of New Jersey will think when the leadership of the teachers union is praying for the governor to die?"
Christie said he was aware of Keshishian’s statement of apology. He said he didn’t view the joke as a threat, but rather a wish.
"They have finally lifted their veil," said the governor of the NJEA. "I don’t think this is a threat. I think it’s a wish. A wish in some ways might be more perverse than a threat."
As Christie goes about bringing NJ’s spending back to some resemblance of reality, expect the greedy public sector unions to get uglier and uglier. They simply refuse to let the gravy train end.

Eric Cantor receives death threats from Philly man Norman LeBoon

In an affidavit released today, total loon Norman LeBoon has been arrested for making death threats to Congressman Eric Cantor and his family. LeBoon made the threats via a video uploaded to YouTube.
Talking Points Memo: PHILADELPHIA - Today, a two-count complaint and warrant was filed charging Norman Leboon with threatening to kill United States Congressman Eric Cantor and his family, and threatening to kill Congressman Eric Cantor, who is an official of the United States, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy and FBI Special Agent in Charge Jan Fedarcyk. As set forth in the affidavit to the complaint and warrant, in or about late March, 2010, Leboon created and then transmitted a YouTube video to Google over the internet, in which he threatened to kill Congressman Cantor and his family. No harm came to the Congressman or his family as a result of Leboon's threats. [copy of affidavit here]
LeBoon a 33-year-old man from Philadelphia, PA has fancies himself as some sort of messiah and has made death threats before. In the video below (h/t Michelle Malkin) we see LeBoon making threats to the folks at YouTube for taking down one of his videos.

You can view more of LeBoon nutty videos at his YouTube channel. As you can see from the video LeBoon apparently considers himself a Muslim. Will the media mention this fact the way they make note about the Christian Militia group Hutaree? Somehow I doubt it especially when it has been discoved that LeBoon gave two dontations to the Obama campaign back in 2008. Jamie Wearing Fool has the full story on the donations. The DNC said it would give any LeBoon donations it finds to charity.

LeBoon is the perfect reason why the media is play such a dangerous game hyping these stories about threats towards the Democrats. There are really crazy people out there both on the left and the right who cannot separate the politics. It is these nutcases that will act on all these stories coming out. Clearly the media’s attempt to smear the Tea Parties is not having the desired effect. Instead it seems to be stirring up the crazy farm.

Leftwinger nutcase calls for Palin and her family’s assassination on Twitter

While the left calls for Republicans to condemn violent acts and threats against Democrats, the left seems to be the ones making very real death threats.

Check out these very explicit tweets found by Patterico’s Pontifications.

These screen shots are only a sample of what this wacko tweeted, Patterico has much more. This leftwing nutjob is a fan of both Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.  I know watching MSNBC rots your brain, but this guy is beyond the pale.

I certainly hope the FBI is onto this nutcase because when it comes to Sarah Palin, the left have a very unreal and unexplainable hatred for the woman. They way they carry on you would swear she ate all their children or something.  How much do you want to bet, the media completely ignores this story?

Victimizers turned victims

Ever since the passage of ObamaCare last Sunday, the media has been focusing in on stories about threats made towards Congress members, Democrat Congress members to be exact

We have seen stories of broken windows at local DNC offices, racial slurs hurled at CBC members, threatening emails and voicemail and so on. The media tries to make the point that these acts of violence are coming from the Tea Party movement. The media also wants us to believe that this type of stuff is a recent phenomenon.

I just don’t see it that way. I see the focus of threats and violence against Democrats as the media’s attempt to help Democrats change their image from victimizers to victims. For the entire 13 months of the health care debate, Democrats have victimized Americans who stood in opposition to the bill. The Tea Parties that sprang up were immediately smeared, ridiculed and ignored. Democrats did everything in their power to dismiss angry constituents at the town hall meetings. The Democrats continued their heavy handedness in Congress by stretching the rules, holding late night votes, crafted legislation behind close doors and wasted our scarce tax dollars to buy off votes within their own caucus.  All this for a bill the majority of Americans never supported.

Now that the Democrats have the dream legislation they always wanted, they realized they achieved it at the price of damaging their brand and a high level of public dislike for the bill. Rather than find some way to calm or make amends with the public, Democrats have fallen back on their old tradition of victimhood. In this case, they want to play the victim.

By painting themselves as victims of alleged Tea Party violence, Democrats feel they can rally their base and shift public attention away from their past behavior. This is a dangerous and irresponsible tactic, especially when segments of the public are feeling like they were railroaded and their voices completely ignored.

We must all condemn the use of threats and violence against any member of Congress and it should be denounced whenever it really occurs. However, we should not allow the threats and violence to stop us for holding Democrats accountable.  It was the Democrats’ reckless and irresponsible pursuit to pass this bill that has brought about the current climate of anger and it is their continued reckless and irresponsible behavior that is feeding it now.   Vote them out; they are not worthy to be our representatives.
