Greg Gutfeld’s Ground Zero Muslim Gay Bar

When it comes to tolerance, two can play at that game. 

From Hot Air: [Greg Gutfeld] I’m announcing tonight, that I am planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but also Islamic gay men. To best express my sincere desire for dialogue, the bar will be situated next to the mosque Park51, in an available commercial space.

This is not a joke. I’ve already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance.

As you know, the Muslim faith doesn’t look kindly upon homosexuality, which is why I’m building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world.

The goal, however, is not simply to open a typical gay bar, but one friendly to men of Islamic faith. An entire floor, for example, will feature non-alcoholic drinks, since booze is forbidden by the faith. The bar will be open all day and night, to accommodate men who would rather keep their sexuality under wraps – but still want to dance.’ [MORE]

The Ground Zero Mosque is creating a real swinging neighborhood. Gutfeld is opening a gay bar and Sam from The Last Tradition wants to open a Rib Shack and Victoria Secret Center.   It will be interesting to see just how “tolerant” the Mosque and its supporter can be as Ground Zero becomes the new Village.

Federal Judge Vaugh Walker finds California’s Proposition 8 Unconstitutional

Judge Vaugh Walker’s ruling should not come as a surprise to anyone who followed the trial.  What Judge Walker concluded was that: 

Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license. Indeed, the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California Constitution the notion that opposite sex couples are superior to same-sex couples. Because California has no interest in discriminating against gay men and lesbians, and because Proposition 8 prevents California from fulfilling its constitutional obligation to provide marriages on an equal basis, the court concludes that Proposition 8 is unconstitutional.

This is by no means the end of the story. Judge Walker’s ruling will no doubt be challenged and this case will work its way up to the Supreme Court. This ruling will surely bring renewed focus onto Elena Kegan’s confirmation. How could it not, given the persistent questions regarding her sexual orientation?

On the issue of gay marriage, I think I hold an unpopular opinion among conservatives. In the battle over gay marriage, I believe conservative’s best efforts will only delay the inevitable. I say this because, time and time again when I discuss this issue with 20 and 30 year olds on both sides of the aisle, I find a large degree of acceptance. Unless these 20 and 30 year olds have some sort of epiphany regarding gay marriage, they will eventually undo all the roadblocks currently being put in place by this generation.

Because so many of the younger generation is on board with gay marriage, I have to wonder why gay rights activist insist upon foisting gay marriage on this generation. Time and time again this generation has made it quite clear they believe marriage is between one man and one woman. Ten years from now when the twentysomethings and thirtysomethings gain political clout, gay rights activist will have what they want without much of a fight.

Gay rights activists’ current plan to use the court system to push the issue today seems like a risky endeavor. It may very well backfire and create a legal precedent that may take yet another generation to overturn.

Al and Tipper Gore call it quits

The big buzz in DC yesterday was that Al and Tipper Gore are calling it quits after 40 years of marriage.  

Politico: Al and Tipper Gore, whose playful romance enlivened Washington and the campaign trail for a quarter century, have decided to separate after 40 years of marriage, the couple told friends Tuesday.

In an “Email from Al and Tipper Gore,” the couple said: “We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate.

“This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further.”

Who knows why the pair is ending their long marriage now. According to one of the Gores’ friends, the evil George W. Bush is to blame: 

Family friend Sally Quinn told CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson that Gore winning the popular vote for president but losing the electoral vote may have done the marriage irreparable harm.

“He’s obviously suffered a lot,” Quinn said. “He’ll never get over that and neither will she.” 

Sorry, but I ain’t buying that one. If I had to venture a guess, I would say Tipper had enough of being married to the laughingstock of Climate Change. For Al Gore I sense midlife crisis. He already has the hot new bachelor pad, all he needs now is the hot new trophy wife.

According to my friend Nikki, she sees a hot new trophy husband! She might be on to something, have you seen Al Gore’s eyebrows lately?

House votes to allow the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell

The New York Times: WASHINGTON — The House voted Thursday to let the Defense Department repeal the ban on gay and bisexual people from serving openly in the military, a major step toward dismantling the 1993 law widely known as “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

The provision would allow military commanders to repeal the ban. The repeal would permit gay men and lesbians to serve openly in the military for the first time.

It was adopted as an amendment to the annual Pentagon policy bill, which the House is expected to vote on Friday. The repeal would be allowed 60 days after a Pentagon report is completed on the ramifications of allowing openly gay service members, and military leaders certify that it would not be disruptive. The report is due by Dec. 1.

The House vote was 234 to 194, with 229 Democrats and 5 Republicans in favor, after an emotionally charged debate. Opposed were 168 Republicans and 26 Democrats.

Hot Air names the five Republican votes in favor of the repeal. Oh, and for those who might say libertarians are all about discrimination because of current news, check out the last name on the list.

Hot Air: Update: Still waiting for the roll, which should be available here once it’s up, but the names of the five (not four) GOP defectors are already being reported on Twitter: It’s Djou, Joe Cao (also from a deep blue district), Judy Biggert, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and … Ron Paul.

I don’t have a problem with homosexuals serving in the military. Homosexuals can be every bit the patriot as a heterosexual. Any homosexual willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect and defend our great nation should not be denied the opportunity. That being said, protecting and defending the nation should be their true reason. Hoisting the rainbow flag, as a primary concern should not. We have already seen how political correctness can kill.

I do have to wonder though, with our financial house still in such disarray, why has the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, taken such prominence in Washington’s agenda?  Any thoughts?

Gay Rights activists heckle Obama at Barbara Boxer rally

It looks like Barbara Boxer may find out the hard way that having Obama stump for you isn’t all it is crack up to be.  The Washington Times is reporting that gay rights activists repeatedly interrupted Obama’s stump speech for Barbara Boxer. The activists were calling out Obama on his promises about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. 

Washington Times: LOS ANGELES | A group of gay rights activists disrupted President Obama's speech at a fundraiser here for Sen. Barbara Boxer Monday night, decrying what they describe as Mr. Obama's inaction on overturning the military's ban on gay service members and calling on him to submit repeal language to Congress.

The activists interrupted Mr. Obama in the middle of his remarks to high-value Democratic donors during a reception at the California Science Center, with one protester shouting from the audience, "What about 'Don't ask, don't tell?'"

Mr. Obama yelled back, "We are going to do that."

He kept talking, increasing his volume to be heard over the protesters as the crowd took up a chant of "Yes, we can," to drown them out.

The Gay Patriot says the hecklers were from a group called GetEQUAL. When you watch the video notice how some in the crowd chant “Yes We Can” to drown out the hecklers. I would not be surprised if the chanters were handy dandy Obama plants.
