Unforced Error: Chris Christie's helicopter ride to son's baseball game

New Jersey Online: TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie arrived at his son's baseball game this afternoon aboard a State Police helicopter.

Right before the lineup cards were being exchanged on the field, a noise from above distracted the spectators as the 55-foot long helicopter buzzed over trees in left field, circled the outfield and landed in an adjacent football field. Christie disembarked from the helicopter and got into a black car with tinted windows that drove him about a 100 yards to the baseball field.

During the 5th inning, Christie and First Lady Mary Pat Christie got into the car, rode back to the helicopter and left the game. During a pitching change, play was stopped for a couple of minutes while the helicopter took off. [...]

The governor had no public events on his schedule, offering no insight to where he might have been traveling from. He had a private meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Drumthwacket, the governor's mansion, in Princeton. He is meeting with a group of Iowa donors who have publically expressed a desire to persuade him to run for president in 2012.

Christie was ferried to the field in a brand-new AugustaWestland helicopter, purchased at a cost to taxpayers of $12.5 million.

The State Police has received two of the five helicopters purchased so far, according to testimony from Attorney General Paula Dow during a May budget hearing. They were purchased to replace aging Sikorsky helicopters that the State Police have flown for about two decades.

The helicopters, which can reach nearly 200 miles per hour with its twin turbo-shaft engines, are designed for homeland security duties and transporting critically injured patients.

Sorry but this is just straight up elitist behavior and in Christies' case it is the height of hypocrisy too. How can you go around the state telling everyone of dire financial circumstances and the blow big bucks on a helicopter ride for personal reasons?

As governor with state police escort, Christie can travel the full length or width of the state in under 3 hours. There is just no reason to waste money on helicopter rides. To make matters worse, previous governors had gotten into trouble for same wasteful behavior.

New Jersey Democrats are going to use this to give Christie a black eye and the sad part is Christie would have earned it.

Angry white man Ed Schultz to host MSNBC's The Black Agenda

The left loves to paint conservatives as a bunch of angry white men. Yet, the poster child for angry white men shows up nightly on MSNBC in the Ed Schultz Show. YouTube is littered with clips of this angry white boy having a meltdown. So, how does an angry white man get to host a MSNBC segment entitled The Black Agenda? Inquiring minds want to know.

What is even more ironic about Ed Schultz hosting The Black Agenda, is that MSNBC did not miss a single opportunity to question the whiteness of the TEA Party movement. Heck, they even made stuff up. Yet, when it comes to racial bean counting in their own backyard, mum is the word. Hypocrisy thy name is MSNBC.

The blistering hypocrisy of Michael Moore - Part 352

The thing I absolutely cannot stand about the blistering hypocrisy of wealthy socialism peddlers like Michael Moore, is that they used the ladder of capitalism to climb to dazzling heights. Once there, they want to yank away that ladder from the rest of us and then hand us the rickety rope of socialism.  There is only one word to describe this behavior and that is selfishness.


We all know damn well that if these zany redistribution of wealth schemes were ever enacted the way Moore suggests, his selfish lard ass would be one of the first to hide and protect his own fortune.


If Michael Moore wants to convince me or anyone else of this "finite money" theory and the need to share, then he needs to start writing some really big checks to the U.S. Treasury.  If Moore isn't willing to do that, then he needs to find a quite corner somewhere and start eating a really big STFU salad!

Mexican President Felipe Calderon bashes Arizona’s immigration law from White House lawn

I find this incident beyond infuriating. If ever there was truly an example of how broken Washington has become this is it.

First, we have a president who is deliberately stirring the racial pot for political gain. Anyone who is willing to take 10 minutes to actually read Arizona’s law, will immediately see that there is no racial profiling or possibility for it to happen.

Second, we have the Mexican president, who does little next to nothing to combat illegal immigration from his side of the border, standing on our soil and treating us like the bad guys. To add insult to injury, Mexico’s immigration laws are 100 times more draconian than anything found in America. Despite these facts, not a single official from this farce of an administration even calls Calderon out on his blatant hypocrisy.

Finally, despite the high level of hypocrisy from Calderon, our own president who is supposed to have our backs, is out there joining in on the bashfest with Calderon. There was a time here in America when Obama’s actions would have deservedly earned him the title “traitor”. 

If Obama were truly serving America’s best interest, he would have had a closed-door session with Calderon. During that session Obama would have administered some long over due tough love to our southern neighbor. Obama should have in no uncertain terms let Calderon know that the days of shuffling off their unhappy citizens to America is over. Tell Calderon we are securing our southern border as tight as a drum and if the Mexican government doesn't start seriously looking after the needs of its people, America would engage in the most massive deportations this country has ever seen. The last thing Mexico wants is a massive influx of its former unhappy citizens. Without a way to sneak back into the US, these unhappy souls would finally bring the much needed pressure to the Mexican government to change its ways.

Given how the numbers are running against Obama on illegal immigration, he is playing with fire. Sarah Palin alone will crucify him for not sticking up for America during Calderon’s BS and in this case it will be well deserved.

You have to love liberal hypocrisy. So many on the left speak breathlessly about the “hateful” anti-Obama signs at the TEA Parties. Yet when they hold an anti-Palin - anti-TEA Party protest sign contest, the hate comes out in buckets.
