A year ago today I dipped my toe into the conservative blogosphere. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that today I would actually have such a respectable following. I am truly humbled.
I started this blog because, like so many of you, I felt a need to speak out about the crazy path our nation has taken. I wanted to use my blog to vent my frustrations, keep up with current political events and to provide another voice to the chorus of black conservatives.
I took my inspiration from Kevin Jackson of The Black Sphere and Adrienne Ross from Motivation: Truth. From Kevin Jackson I learned to speak my mind without fear and Adrienne Ross taught me to speak with conviction. Thanks to you both.
Speaking of thanks, I owe huge thanks to both Robert Stacy McCain from The Other McCain and Shay Riley from Booker Rising. Their early linkage to Another Black Conservative helped tremendously to put me on the map. I simply cannot thank the two of them enough for the early boost. I also want to thank everyone on my e-referrer list for daily hits you send my way.
One of the great rewards I received this year in blogging was friendship. I have made friends with some fantastic people. Stogie from Saber Point (who helped create my banner after the redesign). Left Coast Rebel (who challenges me to keep my traffic up), Namaste from My Voice on the Wings of Change, Adrienne Ross from Motivation: Truth, Nikki from According to Nikki, Liz at Expose the Media, Samuel from The Last Tradition, Carol from No Sheeples Here, Mary Baker and Soloman from the Wisdom of Soloman.
Finally, I want to share with you something I learned this year in blogging. In my very first post I asked; “Where is our Daniel Hannan”? That person who would stand up and call out the crazy spending in Washington. Well, my friend I found the answer and the answer is you! Everyday Americans simply standing up and calling out Washington’s recklessness on both sides of the aisle. You have effected more real change than this nation has seen in 50 years. So, keep standing up and speaking out, soon your hopes will bring about a true everlasting change.
