Yet another sign that Sarah Palin is going to make a run for the White House. She would be a fool not to try. Politico sums up why rather nicely:
It was nothing more than a two-minute self-promotional spot, a campaign-style production that any candidate with a little cash and a capable consultant could splice together, yet Sarah Palin’s newly released video managed to drive cable news television chatter and blazed across the blogosphere Thursday.
It was a remarkable display of force—and one that almost no one else in American political life can replicate.
The audio from the video is mostly taken from her recent speech to Susan B. Anthony List. When the speech was given, the guys over at Hill Buzz immediately identified “Mama Grizzies” as campaign branding and now we see how right they were.
Palin has identified the newest voter block hitting America, moms who have turned activists. I cannot tell you how many mothers I have met who are now full tilt political activist. They have started Tea Parties, blogs and action committees. These women see Washington’s wayward ways as a threat to their children’s future and are thus more motivated than most political activists. Should Palin be able to lock up this bunch, she will have powerful and resourceful bunch of supporters.
As Palin makes her way towards the GOP nomination, look for her to use more and more unconventional ways of getter there. The GOP establishment has made it quite clear that they are on board with one of Palin’s boring male rivals (think Pawlenty, Romney or Barbor).
